Covariant Fluid Dynamics: a Long Wave-Length Approximation
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper we consider the Long-Wavelength Approximation Scheme (LWAS) in the framework of the covariant fluid approach to general relativistic dynamics, specializing to the particular case of irrotational dust matter. We discuss the dynamics of these models during the approach to any spacelike singularity where a BKL-type evolution is expected, studying the validity of this approximation scheme and the role of the magnetic part of the Weyl tensor, Hab. Our analytic results confirm a previous numerical analysis: it is Hab that destroys the pure Kasner-like approach to the singularity and eventually produces the bounce to another Kasner phase. Expanding regions evolve as separate universes where inhomogeneities and anisotropies die away. PACS numbers: 04.20.-q,98.80.-k,98.80.Hw

Influence of Nanoparticles Phenomena on the Peristaltic Flow of Pseudoplastic Fluid in an Inclined Asymmetric Channel with Different Wave Forms
The influence of nanofluid with different wave forms in the presence of inclined asymmetric channel on peristaltic transport of a pseudoplastic fluid is examined. The governing equations for two dimensional and two directional flows of a pseudoplastic fluid along with nanofluid are modeled and then simplified under the assumptions of long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximation. The ex...
متن کاملHeat Transfer Analysis of Nanofluid in a Sine Wave Plate Heat Exchanger
Heat transfer is one of the most critical processes in the industry, and by increasing the efficiency of the heat exchanger, energy consumption of systems will be reduced. Very tiny particles in nanoscale dimensions, when uniformly dispersed and stably suspended in the base fluid, efficiently improve the thermal properties of the base fluid. With the help of nanofluids, the heat transfer rate i...
متن کاملInfluence of Induced Magnetic Field and Partial Slip on the Peristaltic Flow of a Couple Stress Fluid in an Asymmetric Channel
This paper describes the effects of induced magnetic field and partial slip on the peristaltic flow of a couple stress fluids in an asymmetric channel. The two dimensional equation of couple stress fluid are simplified by making the assumptions of long wave length and low Reynolds number. The exact solutions of reduced momentum equation and magnetic force function have been computed in wave...
متن کاملDecoherence Rates for Galilean Covariant Dynamics
We introduce a measure of decoherence for a class of density operators. For Gaussian density operators in dimension one it coincides with an index used by Morikawa (1990). Spatial decoherence rates are derived for three large classes of the Galilean covariant quantum semigroups introduced by Holevo. We also characterize the relaxation to a Gaussian state for these dynamics and give a theorem fo...
متن کاملAssessing the Equatorial Long-Wave Approximation: Asymptotics and Observational Data Analysis*
Equatorial long-wave theory applies where a small horizontal aspect ratio between meridional and zonal length scales is assumed. In an idealized setting, the theory suggests that (i) meridional wind is small, (ii) geostrophic balance holds in the meridional direction, and (iii) inertio-gravity waves are small in amplitude or ‘‘filtered out.’’ In this paper a spectral data analysis method is use...
